Comfy bottom

Comfy bottom

Sometimes, it’s the small things which bring the most pleasure. And today’s thing, pictured fresh from the box, it’s my new studio chair for my posterior to perch upon!

I shall now edit and mix in far greater comfort than before.

If you’re quick you can grab one on sale at John Lewis. It’s a Humanscale “Diffrient World” (yes, Diffrient… because Designer Niels Diffrient dreamed up this cleverly engineered, ergonomic and environmentally friendly bum rest!).

And, yes it’s very comfy!

Back to the City!

Back to the City!

Delighted to be called back to the City to record more for Deloitte next week. Looking forward to be working with the team there again and learning more about how ESG is playing a bigger part in global investments.

Thanks to Sue at Enriching Media for the repeat booking!

Going back through some old pics recently unearthed some gems… one of which I posted in Throw Back Thursday a few weeks ago. This is even older.

It was New Year’s Eve and I was broadcasting live from parties all over Liverpool and Wirral. Each year, people would call in and invite me to their parties via the studio where the legend who is Roger Lyon would be playing the music and picking where I went.

It was seat of the pants stuff … with no prep and often some rather well-oiled interviewees! With me are the lovely Harry (for security!) and my old friend Paul.

New website launched!

New website launched!

After much deliberation and sketching, being photographed, writing copy, logo design, WP config work and coding magic, my new Voice Over site has launched!

It’s been a real team effort and I must offer heartfelt thanks to Colin for the logo design and photo magic, Dickon for making me look human in the photos, Craig for the content inspiration and of course the incomparable Jonny for not only bringing it all to life, but also putting up with me changing stuff – hopefully not too often!

I’ve learned far more about WordPress, AWS, DNS, Bitnami and Apache than a voice over guy needs to know… and there have been a few late nights, but I’m super-chuffed with the end result which we’ll be tweaking in the coming weeks. So, explore, let me know what you think and which is your favourite demo and why!

City of London Finance Job

City of London Finance Job

Fantastic job today in the square mile – but fear not, I haven’t been anywhere near the trading floors so your pensions are safe.

I was voicing part 1 of a really fascinating learning programme for the lovely people at Deloitte, in their in-house production facility. It considered how the value of an organisation is increasingly driven by Environmental, Social and Governance matters – not just the traditional bottom line profits. It was fascinating to learn how investors and boardrooms need to start taking care of people and the planet – not just for all our futures, but also the success of their companies.

Huge thanks to the lovely Sue and Richard at Enriching Media and Nick at Deloitte who was brilliant. It’s a lengthy programme which took a good 4 hrs to record and I can’t wait to see the finished piece – which I’ll share once it’s public.
